Project Primrose was created to unite and mobilise those special caring people across the world who want to help personally care for these loving orphans that are facing extreme hardship in the Ubuntu Orphanage, Duncan Village, South Africa. This is one of the poorest ex-townships in the Eastern Cape where starvation, disease and suffering are rife amid the tiny corrugated iron shacks that sprawl from the littered and dirty roads.

Our aim together is simply to assist these forgotten children by lessening their suffering by helping to create a sustainable project that will help meet their physical, education and most importantly their emotional needs of these children.  It is all about showing they have some one out there that cares about them as an individual.

With even a little of your time in helping us to support these fantastic children, we can together all make a huge difference to their daily lives.   

Everything that you do, you send directly to the orphanage, where everyone volunteers their time and no one gets paid, not even the staff.  Violet who is 77 years old has given her family home to the Children of Duncan Village to be run by the trust.  This gift of kindness from her has touched us all, as she sleeps on her brothers sofa each night and besides her £50 pension which she uses to help the children with, has nothing.  There are very few people in the world that would do such a kind and compassionate thing, the children of Duncan Village are indeed blessed to have this Angel of Mercy in their midst.

Many of these orphaned children are suffering from Aids, Cancer, Malnutrition, Abuse and neglect. They would be homeless without the loving care at this orphanage provided by Pamela and Violet.  

We try to raise awareness about the children’s plight via talks, using multimedia presentations, at schools and various organisations. If you would like to help by getting us to come along talk to your group, organisation, school or club, we would be delighted to come and share our wonderful experiences with you all where possible.  

Likewise if you would like to become a spokesperson in your area for the orphanage, please contact us.  We can supply you with information, material, multimedia presentations and much more.  A vast amount of help and advice is also available for any event or idea that you wish to do from us and our many members.

All funding or assistance you provide is sent by you directly to the orphanage.  Even the Eastfunding is sent to them directly, which is a wonderful scheme that was suggested to us by Be and Drew.  It is easy to register and use, but if you need assistance we will be more than happy to help.  It doesn't cost a penny extra to shop and raise funds for this cause using our site, and as many retailers now give extra discounts when you buy online, you can even save money!

We also hold a variety of social events which are always great fun and a wonderful time to share.
