Postage Instructions and Advice

In the UK it is far cheaper to send a parcel under 1.5kg to the orphanage through the Post.  In fact it is a lot cheaper to send two 1.5kg parcels than one 3kg parcel.

1 - Please wrap your parcel in well and we always cover it in sticky tape to ensure it survives the trip.

2 - Postal Address -   Please send all parcels directly to the orphanage.

                                 Ubuntu Orphanage

                                469 Novet Street

                                Duncan Village

                                East London

                                5201

                                South Africa

3 - Customs Declaration - Please mark the parcel as a GIFT and ensure you include the following.  This is a gift for a Charitable Organisation registered as a NPO (022 - 325) and thus is exempt from duty.

If this is not on the parcel the Orphanage have to pay duty to SARS which often means they can not get the parcel for weeks until they have enough money to pay the duty.

4 - If at all possible request for the parcel to be sent “International Signed For” - This is not as expensive as the Registered Service - but it does provide you with a TRACKING NUMBER which is very important.

5 - If you email us the TRACKING NUMBER to post@projectprimrose.com  we will then pass it on to them and we can then let you know when your parcel has arrived.  That way we can ensure our parcel arrives, however without a tracking number the Orphanage have no way of sorting out any problems should the parcel not arrive.

6 - If you are sending a present for your Birthday Buddy please clearly mark  which child the parcel is intended for.

Any problems please contact us or the orphanage and we will always do our best to help
